European Championship of American Quarter Horses

Auch in diesem Jahr erwarten die Fans der Ranch-Klassen wieder zahlreiche attraktive Startmöglichkeiten. Neben den AQHA Open-, Green-, Amateur-, Amateur Level 1- und Youth-Klassen in den Disziplinen Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail und Working Western Rail können diese Disziplinen auch im Rahmen der IRHA Ranch-Klassen gestartet werden.

Die IRHA Ranch-Klassen werden erneut in den Klassen Open und Non Pro angeboten. Besonders attraktiv: In beiden Klassen werden 50 % der eingegangenen Startgelder als Preisgeld ausgeschüttet!

Ein weiteres Highlight ist die Ranch Riding Challenge, die bereits zum dritten Mal ausgetragen wird. Die anspruchsvolle Pattern wurde erneut von Richterin Sylvia Katschker entworfen und verspricht sportliche Herausforderungen auf höchstem Niveau. Die Teilnehmer kämpfen um ein Preisgeld von 1.000,00 €, das add. ausgezahlt wird. Das große Interesse an dieser Klasse zeigt sich bereits jetzt: bis Nennschluss lagen bereits 31 Nennungen vor. Startberechtigt sind alle Reiterinnen und Reiter mit Pferden ab einem Mindestalter von vier Jahren.

Lots of starting opportunities for ranch enthusiasts

This year, fans of the ranch classes can once again look forward to numerous attractive starting opportunities. In addition to the AQHA Open, Green, Amateur, Amateur Level 1, and Youth classes in the disciplines of Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, and Working Western Rail, these disciplines can also be entered in the IRHA ranch classes.

The IRHA ranch classes will once again be offered in the Open and Non-Pro divisions. A particularly attractive feature: In both classes, 50% of the entry fees collected will be distributed as prize money!

Another highlight is the Ranch Riding Challenge, now being held for the third time. The challenging pattern was again designed by judge Sylvia Katschker and promises high-level sporting challenges. Participants will compete for prize money totaling €1,000.00, which will be paid out added. The great  interest in this class is already noticeable: 31 entries were received before the entry deadline. All riders with horses aged four years or older are eligible to compete.

Herzlich willkommen zur 36. European Championship of Quarter Horses vom 7.-16. August 2026 auf der Reitsportanlage in Kreuth!

Dieses Jahr sind über 320 Pferde aus 15 Nationen gemeldet. Besonders die Trails erfreuen sich sehr großer Beliebtheit, so sind beispielsweise im AQHA Senior Trail aktuell 60 Pferde genannt. 

Anreise und Paid Warm Up
Die Anreise kann leider erst am Mittwoch (6. August) ab 16 Uhr erfolgen, da vorher die Boxen von den Shows dieses Wochenendes gereinigt werden müssen. Bitte keinesfalls vorher anreisen, da das Gelände geschlossen ist. Auch das Führen der Pferde auf die Anlage ist vorher nicht möglich.
Die Paid Warm Ups werden erst am Donnerstagnachmittag beginnen, so dass alle, die wegen der Hitze erst in der Nacht zum Donnerstag anreisen, daran teilnehmen können. Die Paid Warm Ups müssen an der Meldestelle angemeldet werden. Die Paid Warm Ups am Donnerstag in der Ostbayernhalle werden nicht vor 14 Uhr beginnen. Ab 12 Uhr wird am Donnerstag im Stadion ein Trail Paid Warm Up starten und bis in die frühen Abendstunden angeboten, so dass alle sich anmelden können. Jedes Paid Warm Up kostet 20 Euro.

Zufahrtskontrolle
Es wird eine Zufahrtskontrolle vor Ort sein, die die gemeldeten Camper- und Hänger-Kennzeichen erfasst, sofern sie noch nicht bei der Nennung angegeben worden sind. Wer will, kann die Kennzeichen noch vorab an die Meldestelle (RenateGruber@online.de) mailen, dann kann die Anfahrt zügiger erfolgen.
Wer seinen Camper (200 Euro), Truck (100 Euro) oder Pferdeanhänger (50 Euro) noch nicht angemeldet hat, legt bitte das Geld passend bereit.
Auch wer nur vorübergehend auf die Anlage fährt, muss den Pferdehänger bezahlen und erhält das Geld zurück, wenn er innerhalb von zwei Stunden das Gelände wieder verlässt. Parken auf dem Großparkplatz gegenüber dem Veranstaltungsgelände ist kostenlos.

Meldestelle
Die Meldestelle öffnet am Mittwoch um 18 Uhr.
An den Showtagen ist die Meldestelle von 7.30 Uhr bis 18.00 Uhr geöffnet.

Gesundheitspapiere
Die Equidenpäße der Pferde müssen an der Meldestelle vorgelegt werden. Für Pferde, die nicht aus Deutschland kommen, müssen die erforderlichen amtstierärztlichen Gesundheits-Bescheinigungen (Traces) an der Meldestelle abgegeben werden.
Wer ein neues Gesundheitszeugnis zur Heimfahrt braucht, kann den Antrag hier downloaden und frühzeitig zum Amberger Veterinäramt mailen.

Teilnehmerliste & Zeitablaufplan
Wir bitten alle Teilnehmer in dem PDF-File ‚Entry-List‘ nach ihrem Pferd zu suchen und zu kontrollieren, ob alle Klassen erfasst wurden. Falls dies nicht der Fall ist, bitte einfach eine E-Mail an die Meldestelle schicken.
Es gibt einige Klassen, bei denen es keinen Europameistertitel geben wird, sofern nicht noch Pferde nachgemeldet werden. Diese sind im Zeitplan hellblau markiert. Titel gibt es in den Halterklassen ab drei Teilnehmern und in den Performance-Klassen ab fünf Teilnehmern.

Während der Show werden gegen 19 Uhr der Zeitplan und die Startlisten für den nächsten Tag auf der Homepage veröffentlicht. Nachnennungen müssen deshalb bis spätestens 18 Uhr an der Meldestelle erfolgt sein. Die aktuellen Ergebnisse und Score-Sheets werden laufend auf der Homepage online gestellt.

Kostenloser Livestream für Zuschauer
Wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren wird die ganze Show kostenlos für alle Interessierten live übertragen. Die Teilnehmer können sich ihre Ritte kostenlos downloaden.

Während der Show wird ein Hufschmied, eine Veterinärin und eine Ärztin dauerhaft vor Ort sein. Die Telefonnummern sind an der Meldestelle zu erfragen.

Participant information for the 36th European Championship of Quarter Horses

Welcome to the 36th European Championship of Quarter Horses from 7.-16. August 2026 at the equestrian center in Kreuth!

This year, more than 320 horses from 15 countries are entered. The trail events, in particular, are extremely popular; for example, 60 horses are currently entered in the AQHA Senior Trail. 

Arrival and Pay Times

Unfortunately, arrival is not possible before Wednesday (August 6) at 4:00 p.m., as the stalls must first be cleaned out after this weekend’s shows. Please do not arrive any earlier, as the grounds will be closed. It is also not possible to lead the horses onto the grounds.

For this reasons pay times will not begin before Thursday afternoon, so that anyone arriving late on Wednesday night due to the heat can participate. You have to register for pay times at the show office. The pay times on Thursday in the Ostbayern Halle will not begin before 2:00 p.m. Starting at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, a trail paid warm-up at the stadium and will be offered until the early evening hours so that everyone can sign up. Each pay time costs 20 euros.

There will be an on-site access control that will record the registered camper and trailer license plates if they have not already been stated when registering. If you want, you can email the license plates to the show office in advance, so you can get there more quickly.
If you have not registered your camper (200 euros), truck (100 euros) or horse trailer (50 euros), please have the money ready.
Even if you only go to the facility temporarily, you have to pay for the horse trailer and get the money back if you leave the area within two hours. Parking on the large car park opposite the event site is free.

Show Office
The show office opens on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
On show days, the registration office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Health papers
The equine passports of the horses must be presented at the show office. For horses that do not come from Germany, the required official veterinary health certificates (traces) must be submitted to the show office.
If you need a new health certificate for the journey home, you can download the application here and email it to the Amberg Veterinary Office as soon as possible.

List of participants & Schedule
We ask all participants to search for their horse in the PDF file 'Entry List' and check whether all classes have been recorded. If this is not the case, please simply send an email to the show office.
There are some classes in which no European Champion title will be awarded, unless more horses are entered. Titles are available in the halter classes with three or more participants and in the performance classes with five or more participants.
During the show, the schedule and start lists for the next day will be published on the homepage around 7 p.m. Late entries must therefore be made at the registration office by 6 p.m. at the latest. The current results and score sheets are continually posted online on the homepage.

A farrier, a veterinarian, and a doctor will be on site at all times during the show. Please ask at the registration desk for their phone numbers.

Free live stream
As in previous years, the entire show will be broadcast live free of charge for anyone interested. Participants can download their rides for free.

Auch heuer kommen alle Fans der Western Pleasure wieder auf ihre Kosten. Neben zahlreichen Startmöglichkeiten bei den AQHA- und Futurity-Klassen, ist mit der Pleasure Celebration ein weiteres Pleasure Highlight geboten, das dieses Jahr bereits zum 5. Mal stattfinden kann.

Aktuell haben 12 Teilnehmer genannt, die um ein Preisgeld von 5.000 Euro, das von der Pleasure Community gesponsert wird, reiten. Zusätzlich zum Preisgeld gibt es für die drei Erstplazierten Trophy Buckles und ein Custom Show Pad zu gewinnen.

Startberechtigt sind alle 4 & 5-jährigen Pferde der Rassen Quarter Horse, Paint Horse und Appaloosa, die von Profis, Amateuren und Jugendlichen vorgestellt werden können. Nennungen werden aktuell noch angenommen!

Once again this year, all Western Pleasure fans will get their money’s worth. In addition to numerous opportunities to compete in the AQHA and Futurity classes, the Pleasure Celebration offers another Pleasure highlight—an event, that is taking place for the fifth time this year.

Currently, 12 participants have entered to compete for a prize money of €5,000.00, sponsored by the Pleasure Community.  In addition, the top three will win trophy buckles and a custom show pad.

Eligible to compete are all 4- and 5-year-old Quarter Horses, Paint Horses and Appaloosas, which may be shown by professionals, amateurs, and youth. Entries are still being accepted!

Jeder Reiter hat als erstes das Pattern einzeln zu bestreiten, das mit 40% in die Wertung einfließt, danach findet eine Rail-Work für alle Teilnehmer statt, die ebenso mit 40% gewertet wird. Im Anschluss an die beiden Teilprüfungen findet die mit 20% gewertete Halter-Prüfung statt. Der Ablauf wird in Anlehnung an die Pleasure Versatility Challenge sein.

Startberechtigt sind alle Reiter (Open, Amateur und Jugend) mit Pferden ab 4 Jahren.

Zu gewinnen gibt es 1000,00€ Preisgeld gesponsert von Reim Quarter Horses, das mit 100% add. ausgeschüttet wird. Zusätzlich erhält der Gesamtsieger eine Trophy, sowie Schärpen/Medaillen für die 3 Erstpatzierten und kleine Trophys für die Einzelwertungen.

English Versatility by Reim Quarter Horses, in a new format this year

Once again this year, a special highlight will be offered for the Hunter-Under-Saddle-Riders:

- English Versatility Challenge -

The competition consists of a challenging pattern and a rail work class, just like last year, but this year it also includes a halter part.
First, each rider has to work the pattern individually, which counts for 40% of the total score; this is followed by a railwork part for all participants, which also counts for 40%. After these two parts of the competition, there is a halter class, which counts for 20%. The procedure is based on the Pleasure Versatility Challenge.
The competition is open to all riders (Open, Amateur and Youth division) with horses 4 years of age or older.
There is €1,000.00 in prize money, sponsored by Reim Quarter Horses, added with 100% entry fee pay back. In addition, the overall winner will receive a trophy, as well as medals for the top three placings and small trophies for the single class winners.

Die Vorbereitungen für die 36. FEQH European Championship sind in vollem Gange. Vom 07. bis 16. August sind auch dieses Jahr wieder die Tore für erstklassigen Westernreitsport in Kreuth geöffnet. Das erste Wochenende startet wie gewohnt mit den Halterklassen in denen die ersten Europameister ermittelt werden und natürlich den Green und Novice Klassen, erstmalig mit der Ehrung des Circuit Champions.

Ab Montag finden dann die Go-Rounds wie schon in den vergangenen Jahren als 4-fach Show statt, um die Finalisten zu ermitteln. Die Finals werden dann ab dem 13. August ausgetragen.

DQHA, AIQH, SQHA ...) sein. Falls ein Land keinen solchen Verband hat, muss der Teilnehmer Mitglied in einem Tochterverband seiner Wahl werden.

2026 European Quarter Horse Championship with DQHA Futurity/Maturity Classes

Preparations for the 36th FEQH European Championship are in full swing. From August 7 to 16, the gates will once again open in Kreuth for world-class Western equestrian competition. The first weekend will begin, as usual, with the halter classes, in which the first European champions will be determined, and, of course, the Green and Novice classes, with the Circuit Champion being awarded for the first time.
Starting Monday, the go-rounds will take place as a 4-fold show, as in previous years, to determine the finalists. The finals will then be held starting August 13.
For the first time, the DQHA Futurity will take place as part of the EC in the Halter, Trail, Western Pleasure, Ranch Riding, Western Riding, Reining, and Hunter under Saddle classes.

Many other highlights will take place as part of the EC:

This year’s experienced judging team consists of: Doug Allen (UK), Ricky Bordignon (Italy), Helga Hommel (GER), Linda Long (USA).
If there are less than 5 entries for a performce class at the entry deadline, this class will not take place. Halter classes take place with 3 or more entries at the entry deadline.
In order to participate in the European Championship classes, both the exhibitor and the owner of the horse HAVE to be members of a FEQHA member association (e.g. DQHA, AIQH, SQHA ...). If the country of residency does not have such an association, they have to become members of another affiliated association of their choice.
The earliest arrival can be on Wednesday, 5th August, 2026 from 4:00 pm, latest departure is on Monday, August 17, 2026 by 8:00 am.

 AQHA mit Stand und hochkarätiger Delegation während der ECQH vertreten

Wir freuen uns an der European Championship of Quarter Horses, AQHA Chief Executive Officer Dave Dellin, AQHA First Vice President Lori Bucholz und AQHA Director of Competition and International Scott Neuman begrüßen zu können.

Dave hat die Aufgabe des CEO anfangs Jahr übernommen nachdem er zuvor dieselbe Position bei der Paint Horse Association innehatte. Dadurch und durch seine lange Tätigkeit als Pferdetrainer und Richter ist er mit den europäischen Verhältnissen bestens vertraut. Lori kennen und schätzen wir seit Jahren. Sie hat sich als Mitglied und Vorsitzende des International Committees stets für die europäischen Verbände und deren Anliegen eingesetzt. Scott ist für die FEQHA und die European Championship eine wichtige Ansprechperson. Durch seine langjährige Richtertätgkeit ist er ebenfalls bestens vertraut mit den europäischen Verhältnissen. 

Die hochkarätige AQHA Delegation wird vom 13. bis 15. August in Kreuth sein und am FEQHA Mitglieder Meeting am 14. August teilnehmen.

Ebenfalls wird die AQHA mit einem Stand in der Arena vom 13. bis 15. August vertreten sein. Der Stand wird am 13. und 14. August von 08:00 - 18:00 Uhr und am 15. August von 08:00 - 16:30 Uhr geöffnet sein. Wer sein Fohlen registrieren lassen möchte, ein Pferd ummelden will oder einen anderen Service benötigt, findet hier täglich Unterstützung.

AQHA represents with a booth and a high-profile delegation at the ECQH

We are pleased to welcome AQHA Chief Executive Officer Dave Dellin, AQHA First Vice President Lori Bucholz, and AQHA Director of Competition and International Scott Neuman to the European Championship of Quarter Horses.

Dave assumed the position of CEO at the beginning of the year after previously holding the same position at the Paint Horse Association. This, combined with his long career as a horse trainer and judge, has given him an in-depth understanding of the European equestrian scene.

We have known and appreciated Lori for years. As a member and president of the International Committee, she has consistently worked on behalf of the European associations and their interests.

Scott is a key contact for the FEQHA and the European Championship. With many years of experience as a judge, he is also very familiar with European conditions.

The top-class AQHA delegation will be in Kreuth from August 13 to 15 and will participate in the FEQHA Members’ Meeting on August 14.

The AQHA will also have a booth in the arena from August 13–15. The booth will be open on August 13 and 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on August 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to register a foal, transfer a horse’s registration, or require any other service can find assistance there daily.
